Building a Harmonious School Life Between Taiwanese and Japanese Studetns
Yangmei Senior High School in Taiwan and Hyuga High School in Japan have launched a three-week online exchange program aimed at fostering cross-cultural understanding and promoting a harmonious school life between Taiwanese and Japanese students. Through carefully designed themes and interactive discussions, participants explored aspects of daily life, communication, and collaboration.
The first session, held on November 5, focused on school life and daily routines. Students from both schools shared their everyday schedules, club activities, and classroom experiences. The exchange highlighted similarities in academic commitment, as well as cultural differences in school traditions and after-school routines.
On November 12, the second session centered on communication and relationships. Students discussed friendship-building, social dynamics, and the role of communication in maintaining positive connections. Through open dialogue, they gained a deeper appreciation for each other’s cultural perspectives and strengthened interpersonal understanding.
The final session on November 19, titled “The Wise Wolf’s Challenge: Co-creating for Coexistence,” encouraged students to work together to solve fictional yet meaningful scenarios involving cooperation and peaceful coexistence. This creative challenge allowed students to apply what they learned about cultural respect, teamwork, and shared values.
The exchange program successfully provided a platform for meaningful interaction, helping students broaden their worldviews while forging new international friendships. Both schools expressed enthusiasm for continuing similar collaborations in the future.
