My professional journey encompasses approximately 17 years of teaching English at the National Miaoli Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School. This tenure includes a year dedicated to obtaining my second master’s degree at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, as well as a year of teaching English at the Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City (TSHCMC), Vietnam. Currently, I am honored to serve as the Bilingual Program Coordinator and the International Exchange Program Facilitator at Yang Mei Senior High School (YMHS).

In the realm of class management, I place a paramount emphasis on effective communication among students and parents. I firmly believe that most issues can be resolved through constructive dialogue. Additionally, I adhere to the principle that there are no "problem students," only students who face challenges. With my qualification as a counseling teacher, I employ techniques such as unconditional positive regard and empathetic listening to support my students and their parents. Furthermore, I endeavor to lead by example, maintaining a clean classroom environment and addressing any litter I encounter.

Regarding English instruction, my guiding philosophy is "Speak English anytime, anywhere." On the first day of each new semester, I typically feign limited proficiency in Chinese, which often leads students to perceive me as an American-born Chinese. This encourages them to communicate with me in English. I consistently motivate them with the message: "Do not fear speaking English. Just speak it." Moreover, I emphasize the importance of lifelong learning, using my own experiences as a testament. Holding two master’s degrees—one from Taiwan and another from the United Kingdom—I continuously pursue educational growth. In addition to being a certified English teacher by the Ministry of Education (MOE), I am also credentialed as a high school counseling teacher.

In summation, the principles of effective communication and lifelong learning have been the bedrock of my teaching career, driving my professional development and dedication.
