As a young, responsible adult and an exceptionally independent woman, I have always been a believer in growth, progress, and self-discovery, which have been exhibited in my performance as a Licensed Professional Teacher in the Philippines for almost 6 years now. I consider my existence a bundle of possibilities; hence, I am certain that being a Foreign English Teacher will further develop my abilities and full potential in terms of professional growth and career advancement.
Apart from this, I am fully motivated to be part of the bilingual team because I am open to many things that will bridge success toward my future and current reality. I am a firm adherent of the idea that success springs from the seed of motivation, watered by consistent acts of perseverance and determination.
I completed my tertiary education with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English, at the University of Southeastern Philippines in 2018. In the same year, I took and successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers with a very satisfactory rating. Previously, I worked as an online ESL Teacher at 51talk, an online education global platform, where I taught and guided Chinese learners of all ages to improve their English communication skills. I also served as a Public School Teacher at the Department of Education, teaching English in both the Junior and Senior High School Departments. I have attended various seminars and training sessions, while also managing numerous tasks related to language and reading. Furthermore, I actively participated in different demonstrations and activities related to the field, expanding my understanding and knowledge of the English language. For the past 4 years, I have held roles as the Curriculum Head and English Reading Coordinator at our school, where my responsibilities included developing students' abilities in English comprehension and fluency.
I am a flexible and well-organized professional with an initiative in multitasking functions. Personally, I am sociable, resilient, and an independent woman who seeks to experience the beauty of life and the things it has to offer, which is primarily the reason for deciding to make a living overseas. As a 21st-century teacher, my teaching philosophy is centered on the flexibility of students to utilize their learning and carry out tasks wherein they can discover more about what they’ve just learned. I have always believed in the power of 'learning by doing' because it fosters deep and meaningful experiences while offering students the chance to engage and interact in critical situations. I want them to develop the initiative to think beyond the box and apply the inputs to their day-to-day activities and real-world situations, which is the sole purpose of language learning. It takes a skillful teacher to teach a foreign language, and I’m up for the challenge to start my mission at YMHS.
Ultimately, becoming a Foreign English Teacher at YMHS is a privilege and surely an experience of a lifetime; therefore, I will make sure to add value and contribute positive work ethics in the course of my job that shall reflect to my students in the future. Apart from my interest in seeking career growth, I am hopeful that I will be able to serve the core purpose of being an FET and be one in creating more opportunities for Taiwanese students to learn and immerse themselves in the English language. I am confident that my determination will take me to places, and I look forward to experiencing and recognizing Taiwan as my second home.
