Expanding horizons through digital dialogue! Today, Lycee la Pelissiere in France and 楊梅高中 in Taiwan embarked on their first-ever virtual exchange via Google Meet. Our famous bilingual experimental class is at it again!

Last week, our amazing teachers - Ms. Lee Ann, Mr. Tom, and Ms. Lyka- teamed up for a special bilingual IT class on the IoT.

Students weren’t just learning, they were doing! The class explored MQTT, a communication protocol for IoT devices. Using MQTTGO, they dove into how information travels within the network.

Our students got hands-on, building interactive games on this cool online platform!✌🏻👊🏻🖐🏻

The result? A huge success! A professor from NCUE couldn’t believe their eyes. They said our class was “amazing” and “too good to be true!”🫶🏻

Here at Yang Mei, we’re proud of our bilingual program, where students not only learn but actively create in two languages!🔥🔥🔥

上週五（4/19），宋慧儀老師、蔡宏昌老師及外師Lyka - 聯合公開課，是雙語資訊科技課程，主題是剪刀石頭布也要IoT✌🏻👊🏻🖐🏻

學生們不僅在學習，更直接上機操作！這堂課探討了 MQTT物聯網設備的通訊協議。他們使用 MQTTGO平台，深入瞭解資訊在網路中的傳輸方式。

我們的學生親自動手，在這個很酷的平臺上建立互動遊戲！

大獲成功！彰師大學的蔡教授，對我們讚譽有加，簡直不敢相信自己的眼睛。他說我們的課程「驚為天人」且「美夢成真！」

楊梅高中的科目教師們參加了2024年3月27日，在第二會議室舉行的YMHS雙語共備和教學研討會。

在雙語團隊的帶領下，有來自各個領域的教師，包括地理、物理、化學、數學、音樂和美術。本次會議的參與者進行了對學校雙語政策現況的深入討論。他們不僅討論了YMHS的雙語教育未來的發展方向，也分享了自己教授雙語課程時的寶貴經驗。教師們的共同努力有望增強教師對雙語教學的信心和熱忱，進而幫助雙語教育的視野蓬勃發展！

📢【Warmly welcome the bridge of friendship across borders: The exchange activity between Boston Middlesex High School and Yang Mei High School in the academic year 112】📢 - Part 1

The Middlesex School from the USA Embarks on a 2-Day Visit to Yang Mei Senior High School, Fostering Cross-Cultural Exchange, and Nurturing the Strong USA-Taiwan Relationship. 

Radiant smiles and enthusiastic gazes greeted the students of Middlesex High School upon their arrival at the YMHS Campus on March 12, 2024. The visit commenced with a group photo session featuring teachers and students from both institutions. During the opening ceremony held at the exhibition center, not only did Principal Ms. Chung from YMHS deliver a warm speech in English, but representatives from both schools also engaged in enthusiastic exchanges of welcome.

The Bilingual Team of YMHS put together a range of activities for the Middlesex students. The visiting students together with their school buddies took part in art and traditional cuisine activities under the guidance of teacher Young and teacher Lea, such as calligraphy and lucky charm crafting. They also had a blast making the Hakka Lei-cha drink and mochi dessert. Following a sumptuous lunch, they explored the school’s state-of-the-art facilities, trying out the equipment in the gym and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere in the library. A friendly basketball and volleyball match transpired right after the tour. To cap off the day, both groups headed their way to Zhongli night market for some exciting and authentic Taiwanese food.

美國Middlesex學校展開了對楊梅高中為期兩天的參訪，促進跨文化交流，培育強大的美台關係。

2024年3月12日，Middlesex高中的學生們抵達YMHS校園時，熱情的微笑和熱切的目光迎接著他們。參訪活動以兩校師生的團體合照開始。在展演中心舉行的開幕式上，不僅有楊梅高中鍾碧霞校長溫暖的英文致辭，兩校的代表們也都進行了熱情洋溢的歡迎交流。

YMHS的雙語團隊為Middlesex學生準備了一系列活動。在陳翰楊老師和莊雅雯老師的帶領下，美國學生與他們的梅高學伴們一起參加了許多藝術和傳統美食的活動。書法和幸運符製作以及客家擂茶和麻糬課程都讓他們玩得不亦樂乎。在享用了豐盛的午餐後，梅高的學伴們帶著美國學生參觀了學校最先進的設施，不僅試用了學校的健身房，也在圖書館中享受了寧靜的詩書氛圍。在參觀之後，也進行了籃球和排球的友誼賽。第一天的活動的最後，學生們更一起前往中壢夜市，品嚐了道地的台灣美食。

Day 2 was just as busy, with visiting students diving into a hands-on Bilingual Science activity filled with demonstrations and experiments. For an immersive experience, they also sampled Judo and Taekwondo in the school auditorium, under the guidance of coach Wu and coach Chen. As the cultural exchange wound down, students enjoyed a final authentic experience: a Mandarin class. Teacher Ke's brilliant lesson was undoubtedly a highlight of the visit, with students eagerly soaking up new words and phrases, further enriching their understanding of Taiwanese culture and language.

To wrap up the 2-day visit, a closing ceremony was held to celebrate their unforgettable experience. Exceptional performances by some Middlesex school students added to the event's charm. The farewell party was a lively affair, with everyone dancing the night away. As students from both schools said their goodbyes, they carried with them the memories and knowledge shared during their time together. This collaboration between the two institutions was undoubtedly a success. It is hoped that future opportunities for shared experiences will arise between the partner schools.

第二天的活動同樣緊湊，學生們參與了充滿實驗和實作的雙語科學闖關。為了身臨其境的體驗，在梅高的吳文舜教練和陳湘婷教練的指導之下，還親自嘗試了柔道和跆拳道。

隨著活動的尾聲即將到來，學生們享受了最後一堂體驗課程：台灣的國文課。柯育鎮老師的精采課程無疑是這次參訪的一大亮點，學生們熱切地吸收著新的詞彙，進一步豐富了他們對台灣文化和語言的理解。

在活動的最後，舉行了一場閉幕式來慶祝學生們難忘的經歷。Middlesex的同學們的表演為活動增添了魅力，在熱鬧的歡送會上，每個人都沉浸在盡情的舞蹈之中。當學生們道別時，他們帶著共度時光的回憶和知識離開。這次的兩校合作無疑是一大成功。希望兩校未來會有更多的合作機會！

Big news from YangMei Senior High!  Our bilingual teachers just had a fantastic online meeting with Middlesex School in Massachusetts, finalizing their visit to Taiwan on 3/12, 3/13! ️

The American teachers are incredibly welcoming and we can't wait to meet them in person!♡ This collaborative planning process has us buzzing with excitement! We eagerly await the days, when we can finally welcome our American friends to YangMei and embark on a memorable journey of shared learning, cultural understanding, and lasting friendships.
